Variants in this range

Notched covers: end cut-outs let the slab seat into the channel shoulder so the top sits flush with the surface.
Recessed-face covers: a sunken panel in the top face, cast to take a paving infill or reduce concrete volume.
Thick sections: this range runs to 12, 15 and 20cm thickness for vehicle-rated ditch lines, not only footway covers.
Sizes: from 25×24×12cm small trench lids up to 50cm-class covers, with notches typically 15-30cm wide × 1.5-3cm deep.

Getting the seat right

The notch is a seating detail, so it only works if the channel and the cover are quoted together. Give the channel shoulder width and the notch dimensions separately — a cover with a 22×3cm notch will not sit on a shoulder cast for a 15×1.5cm notch, even when the outside cover size is identical.

Quote notch as width × depth, and say how many ends carry it.
For recessed covers, give the recess depth and whether it takes a paving infill.
Thicker covers need more draft on the notch faces to demould without corner damage.
