Arch Framework Slope Mould Buyer Guide

Straight ribs, radius-specific curved beams and numbered set pieces for highway, railway and dam arch slope protection.

Four mould groups on this page

  • Straight arch beams: flat ribs and crosspieces, 42×8×8cm up to 73×30×10cm. Interchangeable by length and thickness — order by running length.
  • Curved arch beams: the arc of each ring, radius-specific from R75 to R225. One mould = one radius; count them per ring.
  • Complete set pieces: lettered A–H or numbered 1#–5# (incl. left/right) pieces forming one arch ring of inner Ø2.5m or Ø3m, in 15/20/25cm thickness.
  • L-type side beams & frame-grid blocks: outer edge L-beams and the square frame-grid (31×31×15cm) + strip-stone lattice alternative.

Three things buyers get wrong

  • Ordering curved beams by size only. The R radius is locked by the arch drawing — same size, wrong radius will not assemble. Always quote R.
  • Mixing set pieces across diameters. A piece from a Ø3m set does not fit a Ø2.5m ring; order complete sets per ring and multiply by ring count, with breakage spares.
  • Under-counting curved beams. They cannot be replaced by straight beams on site. Count rings × curved pieces per ring before ordering.

Arch Framework Slope Mould FAQ

What is an arch framework slope protection system?

Arch framework (gongxing gujia) slope protection is a reinforced concrete grid of arched ribs cast on highway, railway and dam slopes. Concrete arch beams interlock into rings that trap soil and vegetation; the arched shape transfers slope load into the side beams. It is one of the most common engineered slope systems for long transport cuts and embankments. We mould every piece: straight beams, curved arch beams, and the numbered or lettered set pieces.

Why do curved arch beams have an R value, and why does it matter?

R is the arc radius of the curved beam in centimetres — we carry R75, R100, R120, R122, R125, R150, R200 and R225. One curved-beam mould makes one radius only, exactly like curved kerbstone: an R150 beam cannot be bent to R120 on site. The radius is fixed by the arch drawing and the inner arch diameter, so quote the R from the drawing, not from an existing beam. Ordering the wrong R is the most common mistake because straight and curved beams of the same nominal size look similar in photos.

What does 'inner Ø3m' or 'inner Ø2.5m' mean for a complete set?

It is the clear inside diameter of each arch ring after assembly. A set is made of several numbered pieces (A–H or No.1–No.5, with left/right handed variants) that together form one ring. Pieces are not interchangeable between diameters: a No.2 piece from a Ø3m set does not fit a Ø2.5m ring. Common set thicknesses are 15, 20 and 25cm. Buy by the complete set per ring, and multiply by the number of rings along the slope plus spare pieces for breakage.

How do I order a complete arch framework set correctly?

Send the arch design drawing (or the standard the project references) with: inner arch diameter, beam width and thickness, the number of pieces per ring and their numbers, the curved-beam radius, and the L-type side beam size. The Fujian and Anhui highway sets we hold are R150/R125 reference designs — if your project matches a regional standard, name it and we can map pieces directly.

Straight beams versus curved beams — which and how many?

Straight beams (the flat ribs and crosspieces) are interchangeable by length and thickness, so order those by running length. Curved beams are radius-specific and used per arch ring, so count rings × curved pieces per ring and add spares. Under-ordering curved beams is the usual cause of a half-finished slope because they cannot be substituted with straight ones.

Do you supply the frame-grid (kuangge) slope blocks too?

Yes. The square frame-grid block (31×31×15cm) and its strip stones (100×10×15cm, 79×10×15cm) form the alternative lattice-slope system, and L-type side edge beams (e.g. 49.5×41×16cm) finish the outer edges. These can be ordered with the arch system so the whole slope face is cast from matched moulds.

What material and how many pours do these moulds last?

Straight and simple curved beams use polypropylene (PP) for 150+ pour cycles with good demoulding flexibility. Large set pieces and tight-radius curved beams are often made in ABS for crisper, dimensionally stable arcs over many cycles. We recommend PP/ABS based on the piece and your volume.

What is the MOQ and lead time for arch framework moulds?

Mixed-SKU orders are welcome; there is no strict MOQ on catalogue beams. Complete multi-piece sets are made to order and typically run 15–30 days after the arch drawing is approved. Because sets are long and bulky, we plan container loading in advance (20'/40' HQ, flat-rack or open-top). Send the drawing, quantities per piece and destination port for an FOB Ningbo/Shanghai quote.
